Pigskin is a robust and durable material with a characteristic surface. The skin has small visible holes from the pig's bristles, which are a natural part of the structure and appearance of pigskin.

The skins are second quality, which means they may have more marks and irregularities than usual. These may include scars, minor damage or other natural variations in the surface. The skins also vary in size and follow the animal's natural shape.

Pigskin is suitable for lining bags, wallets and other leather projects, as well as for clothing and light upholstery work.

Advantages

The skins can be dyed. Dyeing generally gives the best results on lighter-coloured pigskin. For darker skins, we recommend using an opaque leather paint if you want a noticeable colour change. The images show an example dyed with Waterstain.
